With the information below in mind, you are welcomed and encouraged to visit the aPVOC Website often to learn about Oconee County and be a contributor to the dialogue that will shape the county’s future.
Why?
In the past several years, Oconee County has experienced a strong spurt of growth in all facets of a modern-day growing community. The economic concept of supply and demand has dominated much of the decision making process. Many have been strongly critical of such actions, others have been blessed. Both sides of the discussions are vital to the concept of “getting it right” and both sides of the argument should be available to you for forming your own opinion and/or taking citizen actions. The aPVOC will attempt to inform the reader (as much as possible) of a positive perspective, even in the presence of the negatives, for the future of our home county.
What?
aPVOC is an independent Internet Newsletter created to bring to the citizens of Oconee County and to the wider audience, a positive vision of the community with first-hand reporting of official meetings and community events. Content will not necessarily be inclusive of all activity, but will include all that can be covered at a reasonable pace.
How?
It is designed for submission of articles by visitors, but several tools, policies and protocols are used to safeguard the submission through the portal. Security measures have been integrated into the design, implementation and day-to-day operations of the entire operating environment as part of our continuing commitment to the security of electronic content as well as the electronic transmission of information.
Welcome
We welcome your input in the way of comments and/or articles of interest. However, all submissions for publication on the aPVOC website will be screened and edited for consistency with the purpose of this publication.
