Next year is the Mid Term Elections. The party has been hosting candidates for the various offices that will be up for election. Tonight Gerry Purcell, candidate for Indurance Commissioner presented his platform. Then the Chairman of the Georgia Teen Republicans spoke to us about recruiting Teens to work in the upcoming election. 141. A Fitting Memorial for Veterans Veterans Memorial Day Remembrance 11-8-09

Guest Speaker, Col Larry Saul, US Army Retired
The day was just perfect and Col Saul gave an inspirational speech to an audience of about 75 people, most of whom had a veteran in their lives directly or indirectly. A special recognition was paid to former Veteran Memorial Committee member, Col John Roberts who worked tirelessly to see the memorial built before he died. Peggy, John’s wife accepted the gift – a U S flag that had flown over the memorial on dedication day, July 4, 2008. 11/11/2009 01:43 AM
21 Republican Women Form New Group August 2009

Republican Women are back.
With the current direction that the Congress and the White House is taking this country, Denise Beall and a handful of other like minded women felt strongly that they could not sit by without becoming involved so a charter club of the Georgia Federation of Republican Women was born in Oconee County a few months ago. Congressman Broun Tries to Explain The Obama National Public Option Health Care Plan
About 400 plus people (for and against nationalized health care) attended the gathering at the Oconee Civic Center with many law enforcement personnel present to keep it civil. Many in the audience interrupted the Congressman by holding up signs "Not True" at everything he said. John McNally loved Oconee County with over 30 years of dedicated service, 18 of them as the leader of the Keep Oconee County Beautiful Commission (KOCBC). The County gave him a reception to celebrate the years he spent to make the county a better place to live, work and play. Crawford, GA saw a huge crowd Saturday from 5 - 7 pm at the Depot
In spite of the down pour, about 500 attended the event to hear Republican candidates give their ideas for improving government in Georgia for many different offices. And to enjoy potatoes and sausage, shrimp, corn-on-the-cob and fancy sorted cake slices and sweet tea, of course. It rained the whole time, but didn't seem to deter the listeners. Some Estimates Put the Number of Participants at 2 Million Who Gathered at the Capitol Plus Thousands Back Home
Is Congress and the President listening? The "9-12" Protestors went to Washington traveling from all over the US and filled Penn Ave all the way to the Capitol, on both sides and on the front lawn holding unique signs protesting taxes, ObamaCare, deficit speanding, bailouts, 34 czars, cap & trade and socialism, etc. Gerogia led the march with citizens dressed in Revolutionary War costumes playing the fife and drumes. Simultaneously, protest rallies were being held across the nation. This year has seen the return of regular vendors and a lot of new vendors said Market Coordinator Karl Berg. The new location is spread out better and parking spaces are near the Market. B-B-Q Fundraiser at Brian Kemp's Home
It rained, then stopped, rained again, then stopped long enough for about 75 supporters to gather on the Kemp homeplace of about 40 acres in the western part of Clarke County to celebrate and support his candidancy.There was good pork and Brunswich stew, music and speeches.
